BMW has defended its title as the largest car exporter in the USA. No other company has exported cars with a higher value from the US in 2021, the Munich-based company said, citing the US Department of Commerce. In total, it is about 257,876 vehicles with a value of 10.1 billion dollars (8.9 billion euros). They were built at the Spartanburg plant in the state of South Carolina. The largest customers were China with just under a quarter and Germany with an eighth of the cars.
Bmw built a total of 433,810 X-series cars in Spartanburg last year. It is the world’s largest plant of the Munich-based company and has now earned them the title of the largest car exporter in the USA for the eighth time in a row. (dpa-AFX/gem)
