When MontanaBlack goes online on the Twitch streaming platform, the world watches. At least that’s the feeling, because no one in Germany has more viewers than him. He is so successful that he is even one of the most popular streamers worldwide. But now he’s in trouble again, even if he can’t help it.
Monte – as his fans call him – posted a company raffle in his stream where you could win NFTs. An NFT is digital art based on a blockchain and cannot be copied. On platforms like opensea countless such NFTs are offered, so if you invest correctly, you can make a lot of money with them. However, the competition appeared to be a scam.
As is usual with an influencer, Monte also received money for the competition. The tweets of him promoting the giveaway have been deleted and he is not the only streamer who has promoted the scam giveaway. However, this is not the first time that MontanaBlack has shared a scam on its channel. He has already promoted the NFT project Squiggles and this project also turned out to be a fraud and none of the winners ever received an NFT.
Going forward, MontanaBlack needs to be more careful about what it advertises on its channels. Because the streaming platform Twitch will not be happy if fraudulent competitions take place on their platform. Otherwise, Marcel “MontanaBlack” Eris risks having his account blocked.
