NiP first at IEM Fall – Copenhagen Flames with sensation, qualification for CS: GO major – news ticker


Ninjas in pajamas won the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive IEM Fall tournament. In the final, the Swedish team beat Ence 3: 1 (16: 8; 7:16; 16:14; 16: 6) and collected the most points in the regional major rankings.

“We prevailed in the group stage without defeat in best-of-ones against teams at this level,” said NiP coach Björn “Threat” Pers in an interview after the game. “A lot of teams were surprised, so I’m happy that we stayed so consistent.”

Ence beats Astralis and G2 Esports

The last regional ranking tournament before the PGL Major in Stockholm, which begins at the end of October, had several surprises in store. The Finnish organization Ence beat G2 Esports and Astralis on the way to the final and made the qualification for major perfect.

Movistar Riders was the first completely Spanish team to qualify for a major tournament after failures by Heroic and Complexity. Copenhagen Flames is also there: four of the team’s players had never made it to a qualifying tournament before the IEM Fall, now they can play for the most important title in the CS: GO scene.

Despite mixed results at the IEM Fall, the German teams mousesports and BIG had already had enough points from previous RMR tournaments to participate, but the third German representative Sprout remained without a win in the group stage and had to bury their hopes.
