Wuppertal / Doetinchem The regional soccer division Wuppertaler SV started the short winter break test series with a win. Coach Björn Mehnert’s team won 1-0 (1-0) at Dutch second division club BV De Graapschaf on Tuesday afternoon (January 4, 2022).
The game took place in Doetinchem behind closed doors for safety reasons; it was therefore no longer announced in advance.
Valdet Rama made his debut at WSV. Marco Königs made the red-blue lead 1-0 in the 8th minute. Goalkeeper Sebastian Patzler saved a penalty three minutes later.
The next test match will take place on Saturday (January 8, 2022) at 2 p.m. at the Westphalia division TuS Bövinghausen. On Sunday (January 9th) the WSV will fly to the one-week training camp in Belek (Turkey). The season will continue on January 23rd with the top game at RW Essen.
