A lot of new things today at Apple’s WWDC keynote, which, in addition to iOS 16, macOS 13 and iPadOS 16, also brought a lot of new hardware. Not only the new MacBook Air, which was completely redesigned in the style of last year’s 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models, works on the basis of the new Apple M2 chip, but also the successor to the 13-inch MacBook Pro from 2020.
It was one of the very first MacBooks with Apple Silicon and this year it is moving into the second generation, but once again in the same well-known MacBook Pro design of previous years, i.e. still without a notch. Based on the Apple M2 with 8 CPU cores and 10 GPU cores, Apple promises 40 percent more performance when editing RAW photos in apps like Affinity Photo and even 3.4 times the speed if you still have an Intel model at home .
In contrast to the MacBook Air, which works silently, the MacBook Pro of the year 2022 has a fan, which promises potentially longer-lasting performance. With a maximum of 24 GB of unified RAM, the 16 gigabyte limit of the predecessor is no longer there. Apple promises up to 20 hours of battery life when watching videos for the new 13-inch MacBook Pro, and those who edit videos can look forward to ProRes support. The new MacBook Pro will be available starting next month with prices starting at $1,299.

The German Apple Store offers that 13-inch MacBook Pro with Apple M2 from 1,599 euros, with 256GB SSD. The variant with a 512 GB SSD costs a whopping 1,829 euros, for 24 GB RAM you pay an additional 460 euros each.
