Apple is increasingly suffering from renewed lockdowns imposed in China. As a result, factories are being closed in various provinces, including those of various Apple suppliers. The effects can now also be seen for end customers: the delivery times for the MacBook Pro are beginning to increase. Will your ordered MacBook Pro come later?
Apple is currently under increasing pressure due to draconian lockdowns in China. The Chinese leadership is still taking extreme action against the renewed spread of the corona virus. The imposed lockdowns also affect manufacturing companies in various provinces.
The manufacturers affected include Pegatron, the second largest iPhone manufacturer, and Quanta Computer, the main manufacturer of MacBooks. The closure of the Quanta locations is already beginning to affect the availability of the current 2021 MacBook Pro. Its delivery times in the Apple Online Store have recently become significantly longer.
The MacBook Pro is delayed by several weeks
For example, some customers who buy today can only expect delivery of their new computer around mid-May. But the delivery date of Macs that have already been ordered can also be postponed. For example, customers reported in the MacRumors forums that some of the MacBooks they ordered at the end of March are now only being delivered at the end of April or beginning of May.
Macs with an M1 Max chip and an upgraded SSD are apparently particularly affected. The longer the restrictions last, the more noticeable the impact on end customers will be.
Will your already ordered MacBook Pro also be delivered later? Share your experiences!
