Peter Müller is of the opinion that an Apple saves the doctor every day. Be it an iMac, Macbook, iPhone or iPad, nothing else is on the table or in your pocket. Because he’s been around for so long, he knows Apple’s history well enough to be able to critically and fairly assess the Mac manufacturer’s present. Well-rested contemporaries know and appreciate his articles in the Macwelt morning magazine, which accompany readers on workdays at eight o’clock in the morning to start the next day with an apple and without a doctor. Privately, his heart beats for his family, FC Bayern, six strings, blues scales and triplets in a shuffle rhythm.
The result is not surprising – after all, the same chip is installed in both Macbooks. The Macbook Pro M2 has advantages apart from the benchmarks.

In theory, the Macbook Pro M2 should only perform better for longer-lasting tasks that require high performance, since the active cooling system dissipates heat better and the processor therefore does not clock down as much. However, the usual benchmarks do not measure this.

According to this, the M2 in the Macbook Air achieved 1,899 points in the single-core bench and 8,965 in the multi-core bench in the Geekbench test. The result of the Macbook Pro M2 is in the same range with 1,928 and 8,990 respectively.
