We have already extensively tested the MacBook Pro 13 with an M1 chip from Apple, with 8 GB of RAM and a 256 GB SSD, and compared to the newer MacBook Pro 13 from 2022 with an M2 SoC, the M1 chip works much more efficiently. The battery life is an incredible 20.5 hours of web surfing and thanks to the high performance it can still outperform Intel’s new Alder Lake P CPUs in many scenarios.
The temperature and the fan noise are also at a very low level thanks to the efficiency, the workmanship and speakers are very good as usual. The input devices are also the ultimate for many users, especially for those who prefer a short key drop.
There are disadvantages, for example, due to the large screen edges (optical) or the somewhat slower WiFi 6 standard. The two Thunderbolt ports are also somewhat limited, as you can read in our test report, and the 720p webcam is no longer up to date either. But the newer MacBook Pro 13 M2 from 2022 still has some of these disadvantages.
