The Apple MacBook Pro with the M1 chip and a record battery life of over 20 hours is already available for 999 euros. According to Idealo, this is the lowest price for Apple’s cheap laptop to date. In contrast to the MacBook Air 2020, the 13-inch MacBook Pro has a longer battery life, a brighter display with 500 cd/m², around 25 percent higher long-term performance thanks to the active cooling system and the controversial TouchBar.
The MacBook Pro 13 is available from Janado as a new device in its original packaging at the stated price and is available immediately. However, the cheap offer is a UK QWERTY keyboard layout. When it comes to equipment, you get the basic version with 8 GB RAM and 256 GB SSD.
In addition to the advantages already mentioned, we were able to certify the 1.37 kg light and 15.6 mm thin Apple MacBook Pro 13 in our extensive test as having a very good workmanship of the unibody aluminum case, as well as a very good system performance, but also clearly lower emissions than the previous model with an Intel CPU.
The otherwise appealing design looks a bit outdated due to the thick screen edges – if you don’t mind that and the fact that multiple external displays can only be operated via DisplayLink, you get a cheap professional tool with very good input devices and almost complete coverage of the display DCI-P3 color space.
However, you only have to make do with two Thunderbolt 4 ports and the 3.5 mm audio port when it comes to the connections, and there are practically no maintenance options.

My fascination with computers began at preschool age. Quickly after Windows 95 and 486 came the Internet, which has now completely gripped me – and has never completely let go. At the age of 11 I assembled my own PC, but since 2016 I have completely switched to notebooks: Because of this, as a traveling freelancer, I can have my entire PC with me everywhere. However, I’m not a full-time N3rd and I’m passionate about playing drums, lifting weights and being in our Finnish log cabin!
