MacBook Pro 13 inch 2020 - Apple

In 2022 Apple will release some new Macs. Among them is an entry-level MacBook Pro. It could feature the new M2 processor, but compromises elsewhere.

With the current MacBook Pro 2021 14 and 16 inches, Apple has launched the most powerful MacBook of all time. It’s been on sale since last October, and Apple is likely to unveil a few more new Mac models this year. One of them is said to be an entry-level MacBook Pro.

Well-known editor Mark Gurman takes a look at possible specifications in the latest issue of his newsletter. In his estimation, Apple will equip the new model with the M2 chip, which is to be presented this year.

Compromises on memory and display

This M2 chip is also believed to power the anticipated new 2022 MacBook Air, which is also expected later this year. However, according to Mark Gurman, the new entry-level MacBook Pro does not come with a ProMotion display. An LCD panel will probably be used here. The Touch Bar will probably also be omitted, this feature would then finally be history, currently the MacBook Pro 13 inch from the end of 2020 is still sold with the Touch Bar.

In addition, the new entry-level MacBook Pro, which is likely to replace the current 13-inch model, will probably come with compromises in the maximum RAM size. Meanwhile, Gurman also sees the iMac 24-inch and the Mac Mini in an entry-level configuration supplied with the new M2 chip. The big iMac is likely to see the light of day sometime later this year, but as we reported in a previous story, it may be a little longer than expected.
