Almost two weeks after the presentation at this year’s World Wide Developers Conference, Apple is now offering the first M2-equipped Mac for sale. Although two M2 notebooks were shown at the event, we still have to wait a few weeks for the MacBook Air – according to Apple, it will be ready in July. Overall, the configurations are very clear. There is no other chip than the regular M2, instead users can only order more RAM or storage space. Up to 24 GB “Unified Memory” is possible (+460 euros), the largest SSD can store 2 TB of data (+690 euros). In the top configuration, you end up at 2979 euros.
Expected performance
Apple promised up to 18 percent more CPU and up to 35 percent more GPU performance during the presentation. Early benchmark tests document that the values are probably realistic, although there are definitely fluctuations depending on the area of application.
delivery time
Anyone who orders today will receive their MacBook Pro M2 on Friday in a week’s time. As usual, the values should rise quickly because Apple has documented waiting times of up to two months for the rest of the notebook range. If you want to buy the device locally in a store, the sale will also start next Friday.
Update
Apparently Apple has disabled the ability to order configured versions. After this was possible shortly after 2 p.m., the corresponding button has not worked since then. At the moment there are only the two basic models.

The order pages are now working correctly, and configured versions of the MacBook Pro M2 can also be ordered.
