The MacBook Pro 2021 annoys some users with crackling noise during audio playback. These occur, for example, when playing videos or music, and various variants of the current models seem to be affected. Does it crack for you too?

The current MacBook Pro 2021 was only introduced half a year ago, but apparently the first problems are already appearing. These relate to the audio playback on the devices. Various users experience crackling, cracking and popping noises, as reported by users on Reddit and Apple’s own support forums.

Various MacBook Pro variants are affected by the issue

These issues appear when playing songs or videos on MacBook Pro 2021 “coreaudiod” is exited in macOS, but then the issue comes back immediately.
Apparently, the error occurs mainly when playing songs at high volume. It seems that MacBook Pro models with M1 Pro and M1 Max are affected by this issue.

The bug disappeared for some users after installing macOS Monterey 12.3, but not for others. Apple has not yet commented on this topic. It’s unclear whether Apple can or will fix the bug with a software update.
