Apple | MacBook Pro M1X and more: Waiting for the next Apple event | macbook

The rumor mill is certain: the next Apple event is just around the corner. At the last keynote in mid-September, the group announced two new iPads and a new Apple Watch series in addition to the iPhone 13, 13 Pro, 13 mini and 13 Pro Max, but there was no news in terms of Mac hardware at the time – despite much preliminary speculation. This should now follow at an event in October. That’s what the usually accurate Apple journalist Mark Gurman believes Bloomberg.

The devices that are expected include notebooks as well as desktops. The focus should be on the new MacBook Pro with the M1X chip and revised hardware. In addition to the accelerated SoC, the 14 and 16-inch professional notebooks will probably finally get more ports again – including HDMI and card slot and possibly MagSafe power – and for the first time a mini-LED screen. In terms of price, Apple should probably get plenty here.

A new desktop machine could become an improved Mac mini – rumored to come in the form of a “Pro” model. The specifications promise up to 64 GB of RAM and ten CPU cores, plus 16 to 32 GPU cores – in a compact case that is possibly slightly based on the current iMac M1. The release of macOS 12 alias Monterey is also pending, with which the new Macs are probably equipped by default – a beta phase is currently still running here.

The rumor mill has been insisting on the release of new AirPods models for months. The third-generation plugs are said to be visually based on the AirPods Pro, but come without integrated noise suppression (Active Noise Cancellation, ANC). So they should be a bit cheaper. Finally, Apple could also communicate the availability date of the Apple Watch Series 7 – but the group can also do this simply by means of a press release.

However, it is relatively unlikely that there will be a third keynote in the fall. Other new iPads (including Pro) or a Mac Pro with Apple Silicon are in the pipeline, but they won’t be ready before 2022. Nothing has been heard from a larger iMac with an ARM chip for a long time either – but it is unlikely to appear in the near future either
