The most well-known are probably the references to a 48-megapixel sensor instead of a 12-megapixel variant in the main camera of the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max (here available at Amazon from around 1,000 euros).
But the ultra-wide-angle camera, traditionally usually at least one step below the quality level of the main camera, has also been upgraded with the new iPhone generation. According to him, Apple is switching to a new CMOS sensor with 1.4-micron pixels in the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, versus 1.0 microns in the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max.
The new upgrade is costing Apple a lot, the sensor alone is said to be 70 percent more expensive than its predecessor, and the price of the VCM (Voice Coil Motor) and CCM (Compact Camera Module) has increased by 45 and 40 percent, respectively, what, once again , indicates a higher retail price for the two Pro models. What is particularly unfortunate this year is that the two iPhone 14 basic models are apparently given very few new features, Apple is apparently primarily concerned with maintaining the sales prices.
