Iphone 14 | Apple iPhone 14 Pro achieves up to 38% faster 5G speeds, according to new data | apple iphone

SpeedSmart has the 5G speed of the Apple iPhone 14 Pro (approx. 1,299 euros on Amazon) analyzed by SpeedSmart app users to see if there is any improvement compared to the iPhone 13 Pro. All four models in the iPhone 14 series rely on the Qualcomm Snapdragon X65 5G modem. While this isn’t Qualcomm’s latest modem, the modem is still an upgrade compared to the iPhone 13 Pro’s Snapdragon X60.

According to SpeedSmart data, the new modem in the T-Mobile USA network gives the iPhone 14 Pro an average download speed of 255.91 Mbit/s, which means that the device can load data 38 percent faster than its predecessor. The upload speed increases in the same network by 25.5 percent to 28.25 Mbit/s. The Verizon network shows a similar lead over the iPhone 13 Pro. Ping also drops, from 62.2 ms to 52.9 ms for T-Mobile and from 52.2 ms to 37.1 ms for Verizon. This lower latency is noticeable when streaming games, for example, as it reduces input latency.

It’s important to note that all of this data was collected in the US, so at least part of the data set may have come from 5G mmWave connections – although the faster 5G technology isn’t supported by the iPhone 14 Pro in Europe. However, the much higher average values that SpeedSmart determined indicate that the new 5G modem of the iPhone 14 series works significantly faster than the Snapdragon X60 in the iPhone 13 Pro, even with a weaker signal and in the sub-6 GHz network.
