The Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max has a 6.7-inch LTPO-OLED display and with lots of glass and the stainless steel frame, it weighs an impressive 240 grams. At least it is well balanced and not too top-heavy, so it still feels good in the hand.
The Apple A16 processor with 6GB of RAM makes it one of the fastest smartphones. There is a choice of 128, 256, 512 or 1,024 GB of internal storage. With the smallest variant, it should be borne in mind that the memory is a bit slower and that the ProRes video functions are also limited due to its small capacity.
The approximately 35 percent more powerful battery compared to the iPhone 14 Pro not only compensates for the higher energy consumption of the larger display, but also gives the Pro Max a big runtime increase, even if this is not as great in the test as it was in the predecessor.
The new 48 MPix triple camera ensures great photos and videos. The digital double magnification is convincing and the colors in macro mode are now a little closer to the main optics than in the predecessor, even if it’s still not optimal.
All in all, the iPhone 14 Pro Max is in no way inferior to its smaller brother, but scores with longer battery life. So if you want as much display area as possible and can come to terms with the higher weight, you get a great smartphone.
Even as a little dwarf, my Commodore 16 captivated me and sparked my enthusiasm for computers. With my first modem I surfed the Btx and later also the World Wide Web. I have always been fascinated by the latest technology trends, and this is especially true for mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets. I’ve been on the ball for Notebookcheck since 2013 and have occasionally also written for Notebookinfo.de. I am looking forward to the innovations that are yet to come and that we will put through their paces for you. I spend my free time with photography, barbecuing and my family.
