The lens manufacturer Genius has therefore found that the lens coatings have cracks, so they cannot be installed in Apple’s high-quality smartphones. Apple is said to have already reacted by ordering ten million additional lenses from Largan, which should ensure the supply for the mass production of the iPhone 14 until Genius has overcome the quality problems. Kuo expects Genius to resume manufacturing in a month or two.
These adjustments in the supply chain of the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro should not have a significant impact on the availability of the flagships, as Largan can almost completely fill the gap that has arisen.
