We have often mentioned the Halide camera app for iPhones here in the blog. It is one of the best camera apps for Apple smartphones, at least in my opinion. Above all, it is maintained regularly and supports new features quickly.
Now an update has been distributed that, among other things, brings the virtual 2x zoom for the new Pro models. In effect, the camera crops into the 48-megapixel sensor’s image to create this level between 1x and 3x (telephoto). Logically, the native camera has been able to do this since its launch. Furthermore, Halide now also records 48 MP ProRAW, so far, despite the sensor, this was only possible with 12 MP or as 12 MP RAW with a 48 MP HEIC file. You can quickly switch modes using a toggle on the screen. In addition, you can now focus manually in depth mode (with focus peaking) and the app has been further improved.
The update is now available in the App Store.
