There are usually only a few weeks between the production of the iPhone 14, including the installation of the software, and delivery to the customer. It was precisely during this period that the developers apparently encountered a significant error, despite extensive beta testing. Kept in landscape format, the iPhone 14 (Pro) can cause the images to “appear too soft” when zooming in. A bug that the iOS 16 update with build number 20A362 is supposed to fix.
The version is the same as the release candidate and thus also that of the operating system that has been available for older iPhones since September 12, 2022. Whether Apple has made other changes apart from the photo bug is not clear from the patch notes that have appeared. Nevertheless, it is advisable to install the update immediately after unpacking the iPhone 14 (Pro) – also for security reasons.
Like the Twitter user @AppleSWUpdates It is also reported that the Apple Watch Series 8 in the cellular version (mobile communications) also needs an additional patch that supplies the new WatchOS 9.0 with build 20R364. However, an exact error description was not published for this.
Start of sales in two stages
On September 16, Apple will start shipping and selling the new iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. The iPhone 14 Plus, on the other hand, will have to wait until October 7. This year, the company is focusing on a much stronger separation between the normal iPhone and the Pro version. Only the expensive models will be equipped with the new Apple A16 chip, always-on display and a 48-megapixel camera. The “Dynamic Islands” front camera as an alternative to the notch is also reserved for the Pro models.
