That iPhone 14 comes in four versions. The basic model as well as a larger Plus variant as well as the Pro and Pro Max. But the brand new Plus is selling so badly that it is no longer being produced. Those interested in buying should probably not wait too long.
iPhone 14: Plus already before the end?
The iPhone 14 Plus was introduced to the lineup for the first time this year. Earlier iPhones also had larger versions of the basic version. But this has been left out in the product lines of recent years. For 2022, however, Apple has decided to offer a large base model for sale instead of a compact mini, as with the iPhone 13. But this is where Apple may have made its first mistake.
While the iPhone 14, Pro and Pro Max were available from September 16th at the Apple Store and other electronics retailers, the Plus model was only available from October 7th. Perhaps the first wave of hype surrounding the new smartphone series had already subsided. Apparently very few were waiting for the new model. Because the sales figures speak for themselves.
Like 9to5Mac reported the iPhone 14 Plus is developing into an absolute slow seller. As a result, according to available sources, Apple demanded an immediate halt to production. Two suppliers have already reduced production by 70 to 90 percent.
Other causes of poor performance
However, it seems surprising that this version of the iPhone 14 is so poorly received by the community. After all, Apple had a plan with the Plus model. After the iPhone 13 mini also flopped last year, the group observed high demand for the large Pro Max. As a result, it was decided to release a cheaper basic model for customers, which still includes the advantages of a larger display.
The second problem in addition to the later start of sales could therefore lie in the line itself. This year’s Pro models are very different from the basic version. This makes your purchase much more attractive. during that iPhone 14 vs iPhone 13 however, shows little difference. The only advantage of the Plus model is the slightly longer battery life due to the larger battery. But here, too, users of the standard size cannot really complain.
Better to access it quickly
So there is apparently a lack of a powerful selling point for the plus. Nevertheless, Apple is also said to be planning a Plus model for the iPhone 15. For the current model, however, it remains unclear how long it will be available in Apple Stores and other electronics stores. The warehouses are still full, but due to the halted production, the iPhone 14 Plus may soon become in short supply. If you are interested in buying, you should not let too much time pass.
