The latest flagship series from Apple has been available since September 16th. Just that iPhone 14 Plus was last and can only be ordered and bought today. However, it already seems obvious that one variant is preferred to be purchased. However, this is a double-edged sword.
iPhone 14 Pro clear winner
The iPhone 14 is manufactured by the Taiwanese company Foxconn. There you should pop the champagne corks, especially in the management team, because noisy heise is a record month. If you compare the sales with September last year, you are currently happy about a whopping 40.4 percent more. The success of Apple’s new flagship series is even clearer if you look at August 2022, the month before the release of the iPhone 14 series. Foxconn recorded an unbelievable 83.2 percent increase in sales in September.
These astronomical numbers are mainly due to the fact that the more expensive Pro models are particularly popular. These are also a lot more expensive than the basic version (at least 999 euros). The normal Pro cell phone costs 1,299 euros, while you put at least 1,499 euros on the table for the Pro Max. But the sale of these two expensive versions also means a larger slice of the revenue pie for Foxconn.
Several things explain the hype
The fact that the demand is based more on the Pro models despite the high prices can have several reasons. This year, Apple has drawn the dividing line between the basic series and premium models much sharper than in previous years. The iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max have the coveted always-on display, the innovative Dynamic Island and are also unbeatable in the iPhone 14 battery test. On the other hand, if you compare the normal iPhone 14 with the iPhone 13 from the previous year, there are hardly any differences.
However, despite the sales high, the manufacturer is concerned. With increasing demand comes challenges for the company. Like many other industries, tech is struggling with the effects of inflation. In China in particular, where the production facilities for the iPhone 14 are located, a new lockdown threatens to slow down production or create problems in the supply chain.
