Iphone 14 | iPhone 14: A16 bionic chip not for all models? | apple iphone

Industry expert and analyst Ming-Chi Kuo sees a two-part future for the iPhone 14. Accordingly, the A15 processor, which is already installed in the iPhone 13 series, should be used in the upcoming standard model. But there is hope for premium users.

Apple usually launches a new processor every year along with the new iPhone lineup. In the iPhone 12 (here with a contract), for example, the A14 Bionic works, in the iPhone 13 (here with a contract) the A15 Bionic is used. In 2022, Cupertino not only seems to be breaking with the Notch tradition, but also with its unwritten processor laws: According to Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple is planning to equip the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max with the A15 instead of a new drive. However, there should be a RAM upgrade. Instead of 4 GB, 6 GB of RAM could be available in the future.

What about the iPhone 14 Pro (Max)?

For the two high-end models iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, the future of the processor looks brighter: Apple is said to be planning to use a new chip here. We’re talking about the A16 Bionic. In addition, Apple should give the two Pro versions 6 GB of RAM each – the same amount is also in the iPhone 13 Pro (here with a contract). This means that all iPhone 14 variants would have the same RAM capacity. However, the RAM type should differ. The two Pro models would get the faster and more efficient LPDDR 5 RAM, while the two cheaper iPhones would have LPDDR 4X RAM.

  • 40+ GB LTE & 5G data volume (with up to 300 MBit/s)

It is unclear why Apple will apparently rely on different chips. Supply bottlenecks for components or production problems are conceivable. However, it is also possible that Apple simply wants to differentiate the iPhone 14 Pro and the iPhone 14 Pro Max more clearly from the standard and Max versions. This in turn could mean that the same will happen again with the iPhone 15 series.

You will find out whether the rumors are true in the fall, when Apple is likely to present the new smartphones. Until then, our iPhone 14 rumor overview will keep you up to date. Iphone 14 | iPhone 14: A16 bionic chip not for all models? | apple iphone | 4e25e0ce587b455686ded49bf07aee8f
