Iphone 14 | iPhone 14 brings a nasty surprise – that’s probably Apple’s new strategy | apple iphone

The rumor has been circulating for some time that Apple will only use its new A16 Bionic chipsets in the Pro models of the iPhone 14 deploy. The base and the Max model are said to use the A15 chip from the last flagship generation. According to new reports, entry-level and mid-range iPhones will no longer have access to the latest chips.

iPhone 14 & Max with old chips

The non-Pro devices will probably imitate their predecessors not only in terms of chips. The design should also change little compared to the iPhone 13. According to previous rumours, only minor upgrades are planned internally.

“The latest A16 processor will be available exclusively for two iPhone 14 Pro/high-end models,” writes well-known industry insider Ming-Chi Kuo in one Blog entry on Medium. As a result, Apple will be able to increase the proportion of deliveries of high-end models in the second half of 2022 to up to 60 percent – compared to up to 50 percent previously.

This increase mainly benefits the suppliers of rear camera components, in particular Sony, Largan, Alps and LG Innotek.

Parts of the clientele could migrate

For Apple itself, this restructuring of the iPhone 14 strategy is quite understandable. After all, an increasing proportion of Pro models sold would also have a significant impact on sales. However, the decision could lead to resentment among customers.

The basic models of the company from Cupertino, California are not exactly the cheapest smartphones on the market. Now also toning down the mid-range of the flagship series could drive customers to the high-end models, but there is also a risk that they will migrate that cannot be ignored. Because with the constantly rising prices, some people simply cannot afford the upgrade to the iPhone 14 Pro (Max).
