The Apple community is eagerly awaiting the unveiling of the iPhone 14. In all likelihood, this will not take place until the end of 2022, but the prospect of a completely new design for the Apple cell phone has been fueling anticipation for months. The manufacturer has not yet commented on the device, but numerous leaks indicate a revised look. However, the fresh look could hide the fact that surprisingly little has changed inside the smartphone this year. At least that’s what the often well-informed analyst and self-proclaimed Apple expert Ming-Chi Kuo recently claimed on twitter.

Only Pro models with A16 chip
There are therefore tangible indications that Apple will only give the upcoming Pro models a new A16 processor and faster LPDDR-5 memory. The base iPhone 14 still uses the A15 processor and LPDDR-4X memory from the iPhone 13, according to Kuo. It would be the first time in nine years that Apple would equip its standard and premium models with two completely different processors . Finally it came out loud 9to5mac.com 2013 in the iPhone 5S and the iPhone 5C. Usually the same chips work in the Pro models as in the regular iPhones. Sometimes they have more cores or memory, but the basic technology is identical.
Analyst expects iPhone 14 Max
With this step, Apple would drastically increase the class difference between its top and standard models. Especially since the iPhone 14 would technically just be an iPhone 13 in a new case. According to Kuo, this is not the only drastic change in the iPhone cosmos. If the analyst’s statements are true, Apple will also be using a new display size in the future and will introduce the iPhone 14 Max.
This is said to come with a 6.7-inch screen and would be on par with the iPhone 14 Pro Max. It would be the first time that Apple offers the maximum display size outside of the pro segment. Corresponding rumors had already existed in September 2021. What Ming-Chi Kuo does not announce for autumn 2022 is not surprising, but it is also quite remarkable: an iPhone 14 with a 5.4-inch display. This seems to confirm the indications that Apple will no longer offer an iPhone mini from this year.
