All major improvements, such as the Apple A16, an always-on display or the (partial) elimination of the notch are probably reserved for the Pro devices. But Apple will try to attract new customers with an iPhone 14 Max. This is a regular iPhone but with a larger screen. In return, Apple will finally bury the iPhone mini in the fall due to low demand.

Last week, rumors surfaced that, at least in the US, the price of the regular no-name iPhone will remain stable at $799 and that Apple is not planning a price hike despite global inflation and supply chain issues.

Higher price on the Pro models
However, the usually well-informed analyst Ming-Chi Kuo reports that Apple is definitely planning price increases for the higher-end models. The current iPhone 13 Pro costs $999 – but Kuo expects the price to be 10 to 15 percent higher. This would mean that the basic iPhone 14 Pro costs around $1,100 to $1,150. The iPhone 14 Pro Max could cost $1,200 to $1,250 instead of the current $1,099. How expensive the iPhone 14 Max (without Pro) will be is still in the stars. Analysts expect prices between 900 and 950 dollars here.

Even higher price increases in the euro area?
However, due to the devaluation of the euro compared to the US dollar, European customers could face even greater price increases than Kuo predicted. In autumn 2021, one euro was still worth just under $1.2 – but the euro is currently fighting hard against parity: you currently only get around $1.03 for one euro. This means that a further price increase of around 10 percent in the euro area is conceivable for future Apple products.

An iPhone 14 without a name suffix could go over the counter for 999 euros instead of 899 euros from next fall. Apple usually avoids price adjustments without introducing a new generation and accepts positive and negative currency fluctuations with a higher or lower margin.
