It shouldn’t be long before Apple will present the iPhone 14 and all associated model variants at a keynote – which will probably take place in early September. Design: Apple could catch up with Samsung
While most other manufacturers have been using a front camera punch hole in the display for years, Apple has so far stuck to the wide sensor indentation (notch) at the top edge. But that could change with the new generation. At least that’s what the previous ones say Pictures of the iPhone 14 Pro Max.

If the experts are not wrong, the new high-end flagship will be a Double punch hole to have. This would still take up more space than the simple cutout in the Galaxy S22 Ultra’s display, but it would still reveal significantly more screen space than Apple users have been used to in recent years.
In terms of size and weight, the iPhone 14 Pro Max should be similar to the Galaxy S22 Ultra. that measures 163.3 x 77.9 x 8.9mm and weighs 228g. The iPhone is probably slightly smaller.
Display: Equal as always?
The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is equipped with a Dynamic AMOLED display that huge 6.8 inches is big. It convinces with bright colors, an exceptionally high brightness and a dynamic Refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. The latter ensures, among other things, that image transitions look softer, which is particularly popular in games.
The screen of the iPhone 14 Pro Max is said to be similar in size: 6.7 inches says the rumor mill. Experts assume that, like the previous model, it is an OLED panel with variable Refresh rate of up to 120 Hz acts.
In that regard, cell phones would be about equally well placed. However, it could The Galaxy S22 Ultra’s display is slightly brighter be, which would be an advantage on particularly sunny days.
Camera: Is Apple getting into the MP race?
It is typical of Apple cameras that they all have a maximum resolution of 12 MP. With the iPhone 14 Pro Max, however, this tradition could end: at least the wide-angle sensor should this time 48 MP raise.
As with the previous model, there should again be an ultra wide angle with 12 MP resolution as well as a 12 MP telephoto and a LiDAR sensor. The latter does not take photos, but collects additional image information for depth display and lighting.

In contrast, there is the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra with four lenses. The wide angle brings it up impressive 108 MP. The ultra wide angle also has a resolution of 12 MP. There are also two telephoto lenses, each with a resolution of 10 MP and different zoom levels.
Nothing can be said about the photo quality at this point, but thanks to the double telephoto zoom, the Galaxy S22 Ultra gets one up to 10x optical magnification. With the iPhone 14 Pro Max it will – as of now – only a 3x optical zoom.
Performance: Bionic vs Exynos
When it comes to performance, Apple’s and Samsung’s flagships consistently rank among the best smartphones out there. The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra comes with a Exynos 2200 equipped with a high-performance chip that can cope with even the most demanding requirements. VR apps, image processing software or even 3D games run absolutely smoothly. There is also a choice of 8 GB or 12 GB of working memory (RAM) for multitasking.
The iPhone 14 Pro Max is said to come with a brand new A16 Bionic such as 6GB RAM be equipped. There is currently no information on how powerful the combo will be, but a look at the Antutu results of the predecessor chip allows us to make an assessment.
The iPhone 13 Pro Max’s A15 Bionic had an overall score of 824,959 on the performance benchmark. The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is currently slightly better with 860,669 points. Apple’s new processor should, however, catch up again. Anything else would surprise us greatly.
Battery: who lasts longer?
When it comes to the battery, both smartphones are or will be excellently equipped. The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra brings 5000mAh capacity with what according to the manufacturer for up to 22 hours of video playback enough.
Assuming Apple doesn’t back down, the iPhone 14 Pro Max should offer similar battery life. But the Galaxy S22 Ultra has one 45W fast charge function. The power supply of the iPhone 14 Pro Max, on the other hand, should maximum with 30 W load, which would be a bit slower.
Price: Advantage for the Galaxy S22 Ultra?
Insiders assume that Apple will increase the entry price of all iPhone 14 models by around 100 euros compared to their predecessors due to the increased production costs. So it should iPhone 14 Pro Max to start 1349 euros cost in the smallest memory variant.
The Galaxy S22 Ultra was launched in spring 2022 for a RRP of 1249 euros introduced. In the meantime, however, the price has fallen sharply, so you can sometimes find the Samsung flagship online even from 900 euros finds (as of August 2022).
