The date for the most important Apple event of the year has been set: on September 7, 2022, the US company invites you to this year’s iPhone presentation. The keynote, which was officially announced to the media on Wednesday evening, has the motto “Far out”, which translates as “far out” (or translated: “really crazy”) and is highlighted with a space motif.
The event is apparently once again carried out as a video recording that Apple has been preparing for weeks. However, Apple also explicitly invites press representatives to Apple Park. A YouTube live stream Apple has already set it up, it will be supplemented by a broadcast on the Apple website and the Apple TV events app.
The event starts at 7 p.m. Central European Time. The date is a Wednesday and not the typical Apple Tuesday because September 5 is Labor Day in the USA.
What to expect
As part of the invitation, Apple usually does not give any indication of what to expect in terms of content. This is also the case this year. It seems clear that the iPhone 14 will be on display – this time in the variants 14, 14 Max (instead of mini), 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max.
Only the Pro models are said to get the new system-on-a-chip A16, and there should also be a change in the TrueDepth camera module, which is divided into two. An always-on screen can also be expected with the Pro models. Apple should also have worked on the camera technology.
New watch is coming
In addition, Apple is likely to introduce a completely new smartwatch series, the Apple Watch Pro with a new design and larger screen. In addition, a new Series 8 is expected, of which there should also be an SE version. Series 8 and Pro are said to be getting a body temperature sensor for the first time.
In addition, Apple should officially release the operating systems iOS 16 and watchOS 9 at the keynote. More surprises can be expected. As always, Mac & i accompanies the iPhone keynote with a live ticker.
