iPhone 14 for 1 euro: is this tariff deal from o2 worth it?

The iPhone 14 costs almost 1,000 euros from Apple. Cell phone provider o2 is now selling the noble cell phone with a contract for a one-off price of 1 euro. To be too good to be true? The offer under the magnifying glass!

Smartphone enthusiasts not only place the highest demands on their mobile phones, the mobile phone tariff must also offer maximum performance. A combination that usually costs a lot of money. The iPhone 14, for example, is one of the best mobile phones on the market, but costs a whopping 999 euros from the manufacturer. If you then book an all-network flat rate with unlimited 5G data volume, you lose another 60 euros per month. If you buy both together, you can save a lot now.

o2 deal: iPhone 14 with unlimited data

Mobile network provider o2 is currently offering the iPhone 14 in combination with the Unlimited Max tariff for a one-off price of 1 euro. And it actually stays that way – apart from the 4.99 euros shipping costs, which are added again. The tariff with telephone and SMS flat rate as well as unlimited data volume in the 5G network and maximum surfing speed of up to 500 megabits per second costs the usual 59.99 euros per month.

  • iPhone 14 (128 GB) for 1 instead of 849 euros plus 4.99 euros shipping
  • Telephone and SMS flat rate
  • Unlimited data volume in the 5G network from o2 (up to 500 Mbit/s)
  • Monthly basic fee: 59.99 euros (for 36 monthly installments)
  • No connection price
  • Minimum contract period: 24 months

Whichever way you look at it, there isn’t really a catch with this offer. In fact, the otherwise obligatory connection fee of 39.99 euros does not even apply. The only notable disadvantage is the long running time. The minimum contract term is the usual 24 months, but the installment payment for the iPhone is designed for 36 months. The deal is only really cheap if you let the contract run for the entire three years.

In this case, the total costs amount to 2,165.63 euros. If you subtract the currently cheapest network price for the iPhone 14 of 825 euros, the effective monthly rate is 37.24 euros. This is a good price for the 5G flat rate offered. Of course, the deal is only worthwhile for those who actually surf, stream or gamble every month until the doctor comes and really take advantage of the unlimited data volume.

Alternative without a contract: iPhone 14 for 825 euros on eBay

It’s supposed to be the iPhone 14, but does a mobile phone tariff already exist? Then there is no way around buying the Apple cell phone individually. Even if Apple itself is the logical first point of contact for many users when purchasing a smartphone, it should always be the last option – because the iPhone 14 is nowhere more expensive.

Apple has almost never lowered its prices and will stick to the price point of 999 euros for the iPhone 14 until the iPhone 15 appears. Interested parties are currently getting a lot cheaper on eBay. There, the retailer ikauf66 is offering the mobile phone at by far the cheapest price of 825 euros.

  • iPhone 14 (128GB)
  • Colour: Black (Midnight)
  • New, originally packed and sealed
  • No shipping costs
  • Dealers with 100 percent positive ratings

The price offered is a real competitive price and there is no catch to this offer either. The retailer has already sold thousands of iPhone 14s and received 100 percent positive reviews. According to the offer, the devices are new, in their original packaging and sealed. The only caveat: the color choices are limited to the black version of the iPhone 14. If you can live with that, you won’t find a better deal anywhere at the moment.
