According to a recent tweet by the accurate analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, there are apparently quality problems with some lenses of the Apple iPhone 14 main camera.
As a consequence, the group will probably have to change its supplier again.
Quality issues with iPhone 14 main camera
According to Kuo’s new post on Twitter, some of the camera lenses provided by the manufacturer Genius had quality issues related to the coating.
As he also wrote in the same tweet, an order of around 10 million lens units was placed with Largan instead of Genius to avoid significant delays in iPhone 14 production. According to Kuo, Largan will be able to fill the supply gap.
Based on its experience, it should take Genius up to two months to fix the lens coating issues. If this takes more time, Largan would still be the main supplier of lenses for iPhone 14 series.

Despite the problems, the launch of the iPhone 14 will not be delayed, even if initially the smartphone will only be available to a limited extent in Apple stores due to the bottlenecks. Apple was also able to attract new suppliers to prevent possible delays in deliveries of the iPhone 13 successor.
According to previous speculation, the iPhone 14 will appear with four models, with only the top models iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max having a new display design and faster processor.
In September, the presentation of the new iPhone is expected at the keynote.
