sonos Trueplay is a feature developed by Sonos that allows the sound quality of Sonos speakers to be matched to room acoustics. It does this by playing a sound from the speaker and then picking it up by the microphone on the mobile device running the Sonos app.
The app then analyzes the sound waves and adjusts the speaker’s sound settings accordingly to create the clearest and most balanced sound possible in the room.
It’s important to note that Sonos Trueplay is only available on certain Sonos speakers and that there is a supported iOS device with microphone and the Sonos app needed to adjust the whole thing. Sonos recently pushed out a major software updatewhich did not yet allow using Trueplay on the iPhone 14 series (iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max).
In the meantime, however, this should work if you run the Sonos app on your new iPhone and run Trueplay in the system settings. Who knows, maybe you not only have the new iPhone, but also new Sonos devices.
