Apple’s September keynote is over and while we anxiously await the new devices themselves, we can’t pass up a bit of light entertainment as the internet is once again full of jokes and memes specific to the new iPhones.
The reactions to Dynamic Island, the notch replacement in the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max are consistently positive. Nevertheless, great humorous capital can be made from it.
Benjamin Mayo, for example, writes on Twitter that after the presentation he will first buy the new 13-inch MacBook Pro with Dynamic Island. What is meant is the Touch Bar, which is not dissimilar to Dynamic Island in its functionality.

User “reathchris”, on the other hand, “looks forward” to the many opportunities that the Dynamic Island app developers offer to display advertising and spam to owners of an iPhone 14 Pro.

Orman Clark is taking a slightly more positive tone, but reckons designers will be flocking to Dynamic Island for the next few weeks like wasps to a slice of apple pie in late summer.

Speaking of jokes: Developer Dominik Wagner complained on Twitter that nobody had the idea of calling the Dynamic Island “Notchification Center” instead.
Who called it “Dynamic Island” instead of “Notchification Center”? #iPhone14Pro

The regular iPhone 14 is getting a lot of fat this year, because it is the third generation in a row that has hardly changed compared to its predecessor, at least superficially. This was also noticed by user “iPhone_3GS” on Reddit, even if the subreddit /r/applesucks isn’t so much out for clever jokes, but sometimes more, sometimes less justified… let’s call it “criticism”.
Various users messed up this fact in various meme templates in one way or another:

What has actually changed visibly on the iPhone is the “blue” hue. Reddit user “Glittering_Seesaw_21” points out that Apple’s cyan ink cartridge is probably coming to an end.

While most of the Apple devices presented in America remain their prices, customers in large parts of the world have to dig significantly deeper into their pockets for a new iPhone. Some have workarounds.

Twitter user “tedo” is hoping for a drop in the price of the iPhone 13, which will be passed down, similar to trickle-down economics, so that “tedo” can finally buy an iPhone 11. Historically, this principle works for discounts at least.

Others are already in crisis mode and would sell a kidney for the iPhone 14 Pro Max. Our tip: If you had to sell a kidney for a new iPhone, please go for the kidney.
This is how I see the new iPhone.

Samsung is back in full swing. After the company just a few days ago released a short promotional clip in which it makes fun of Apple’s lack of willingness to innovate, it shoots another clip just in time for the Apple keynote. Still, it’s well done and really funny.
But Samsung’s advertising campaign obviously doesn’t end here. Twitter user omithelegend found a huge promotional poster in which Samsung writes: “Welcome to the club Apple. We’ve been filming in 8K since [zweieinhalb Jahren].”

Twitter user “9lekt”, on the other hand, writes that he is not looking forward to the Airpods Pro, the Apple Watch Series 8 or the iPhone 14, but to Craig Federighi and probably his majestic mane. We don’t want to know how disappointed “9lekt” must have been when Federighi didn’t show up.

Esther Cohen of The Verge observes on Twitter that the Apple Series 8 is for people who are attached to life, while the new Apple Watch Ultra is aimed at those who are suicidal.

Last but not least, Twitter user “AliveToBeDead” targets YouTubers and tries to predict what sensational YouTubers will do with the iPhone 14 in the next few days.
