Since 2017 the theater group of the Pirmasensers Tim Ganter – initially still under the name “IntensivTheater” – has been repeatedly in the festival hall and in the Alte Post with the events “Jesus Christ Superstar”, “Der kleine Horrorladen”, a “Stevie Wonder Tribute” and guest at a musical gala. During the lockdowns, the group found new ways to spread art and culture: 24 live streams and digital formats have turned the theater project into a non-profit creative company with a portfolio of diverse cultural offers. This was accompanied by the renaming to Amata. “The word comes from Latin and underlines what we work for: the beloved arts,” explains Ganter.
Amata is now planning a musical revue by Jason Robert Brown in Neunkirchen and Pirmasens in December. For the theater and its Pirmasens producer Tim Ganter, the production means a new cultural start.
“Songs For A New World” is a musical revue with 17 artful mini-dramas that are held together by an idea: The protagonists are at turning points in their lives, have to make far-reaching decisions and hope for a new world, a promising future.
With this work, the composer and lyricist Jason Robert Brown began his career, in which he seamlessly combined show character and contemporary sounds over and over again. “Songs For A New World” combines a Spanish ship from 1492 with New York characters of today – with problems of today. They all hope for a “new world”, be it large or small, whether it is about money or love, fears or adventure.
