Apple cell phone with unlimited tariff
iPhone 13 for 1 euro: Best deal before the iPhone 14?
08/24/2022, 2:10 p.m
Shortly before the release of the iPhone 14, the prices for the iPhone 13 are falling. One offer currently stands out from the crowd: the iPhone 13 with unlimited 5G data volume costs 1 euro. It’s worth it, but it’s not for everyone.
In September, Apple will introduce the iPhone 14. As always, it won’t be the previous generation – in that case, this iPhone 13 – replace, but rather form the spearhead of the smartphone fleet. Accordingly, it is still worth buying the iPhone 13 after the release if the price is right. That seems to be the case with the current offer from Media Markt: There you can get the iPhone 13 with unlimited 5G data volume for the device price of 1 €. However, only people up to the age of 29 benefit from it.
iPhone 13 for 1 euro: only up to 29 – but quite cheap
If you are under 29 and want the current iPhone including the carefree tariff, you can rub your hands about the following:
- Telephony: Unlimited calls and SMS within Germany
- Internet: Unlimited 5G/LTE with up to 500 Mbit/s
- Network: o2
- monthly price: 49.99 euros
- Duration: 24 Months
- One-time costs: 40.99 euros (including 1 euro for the iPhone 13)
- Device: iPhone 13 with 128 GB of storage (minimum value: 799 euros)
- Effective monthly price: 18.41 euros
Assessment: iPhone 13 with unlimited data contract and 5G
The iPhone 13 supports 5G. If you want to get the most out of the currently fastest mobile Internet, this contract is a good choice. Unlimited surfing means: Netflix, YouTube, Spotify, Instagram & Co. day and night without annoying data slowdown. All this at a price that you might get 30 gigabytes of data for elsewhere. It’s effectively worth it.
Alternative with iPhone 13 Pro Max and AirPods Pro
Can it be something more – at least as far as the smartphone is concerned? In this case, o2 has a contract with the iPhone 13 Pro Max – i.e. the best equipment in terms of camera (additional macro mode and 3x optical zoom), more battery life and display size that Apple currently has to offer.
The whole thing is paired with an o2 Grow tariff including 40 GB 5G/LTE. Grow means that the tariff grows by 10 GB in each of the first few years in order to withstand growing data hunger. As a bonus, there are the Apple AirPods Pro with active noise cancellation on top. Incidentally, the contract also applies to those over 29. Short and sweet:
- Telephony: Unlimited calls and SMS within Germany
- Internet: 40+ gigabytes of 5G/LTE with up to 300 Mbit/s
- Network: o2
- monthly price: 61.99 euros
- Duration: 36 months
- One-time costs: 17.99 euros (including 13 euros for the iPhone 13 Pro Max)
- Device: iPhone 13 Pro Max with 128 GB of storage (minimum value: 1,199 euros)
- Bonus: Apple AirPods Pro (minimum value 199 euros)
- Effective monthly price: 25.88 euros
Assessment: iPhone + AirPods Pro + o2 Grow with 40 GB 5G
If you use the calculator and add everything up, you effectively pay 25.88 euros per month. The price is slightly higher than the youth offering, but offers the largest iPhone. But you should want to commit yourself for 36 months. In principle, no problem, since the contract increases in data volume within the minimum term – and iPhones retain their value for years.
