Apple is announcing a price increase for various devices. Even before the release, insiders report that the iPhone 14 and the next Apple Watch will be significantly more expensive. We have summarized for you here how deep customers have to dig into their pockets.
With the iPhone 14 and the new Apple Watch, Apple is probably also planning a price increase. This emerges from a report by Phone Arena, which refers to insider circles. According to these new iPhone 14 rumors, all models will be around 100 euros more expensive. Apparently, this is mainly due to the increased production and delivery costs, which continue to cause problems for Apple.
New iPhone generation, new prices
For example, customers would pay around $899 for the cheapest next-generation smartphone, the iPhone 14 Max. The more powerful models should also bring a similar price increase. For comparison: The iPhone 13 mini (tested here) came onto the market with a starting price of 799 euros and the iPhone 13 (tested here) for 899 euros. The new version of the latter model could therefore now cost 999 euros.
This is likely to upset some iPhone fans, especially if the rumors about the iPhone 14 models come true. Apple’s new smartphones are said to offer hardly any improvements compared to their predecessors. Only the Pro and the Pro Max should get a new processor. If you don’t want to do without an iPhone despite the price increase, you should better secure an iPhone with a contract to save some money.
Apple Watch with bigger screen and higher cost
According to the insiders, the iPhones are not the end of the story. Even with the Apple Watch 2022, at least one model could drive the price range up. While the regular Series 8 model and the SE version are said to maintain a similar starting price as their respective predecessors, the new Pro version could cost between 900 and 999 euros.
As always with Apple, however, there is still a lot that can be done before the devices are officially presented. In September, all iPhone fans should then find out what to expect.
