Iphone 14 | iPhone 14 Pro: The Dynamic Island is the biggest UX change in five years, according to Apple’s management | apple iphone

According to Craig Federighi, the Dynamic Island is the biggest change to the iOS user interface since the launch of the iPhone X around five years ago. Because in 2017, Apple had to redesign large parts of the operating system after the home button was removed and space had to be made for the notch. According to Apple’s software boss, the Dynamic Island was an exciting challenge, which ultimately made it possible to display significantly more information in the status bar than before.

The video embedded below shows some of the uses of the Dynamic Island. Basically, the extended punch hole is mainly used to provide quick access to background activities, such as phone calls or music playback, while important information can be displayed, such as a running timer or ongoing navigation in Apple Maps. Third-party apps can access the Dynamic Island, but so far app support has been severely limited.
