iPhone 14: what surprises the new Apple smartphones?

The iPhone 14 is here! Some assumptions from the rumor mill have been confirmed – others have not. We reveal what the new iPhones can do, what they cost and for whom the purchase is worthwhile.
At the keynote on September 7th, Apple introduced its new products: the Apple Watch Pro and the iphone 14 in its numerous variants. We have all the information at a glance.
Where to pre-order the iPhone 14?
The iPhone 14 can be ordered from Friday, May September 9th, pre-order – in all variants. If you want to call the new Apple smartphone your own as soon as possible, you should keep an eye on the following retailers:
Experience has shown that these shops are at the forefront when it comes to pre-ordering and releasing new smartphones. So the iPhone 14 should also be available early in all variants. The new smartphones will be delivered from September 16th. The iPhone 14 Plus is the exception and won’t be available until October 7th.

Many of the performance-related innovations in the iPhone 14 series only affect the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max: As expected, due to the global chip shortage, only they will be able to use the snappy new one Apple A16 chip fitted. The normal iPhone 14 stays with the A15 processor, which is also at work in the iPhone 13.
The Pro models also come with one Always-on display, which runs at a smooth 120 Hertz – finally! Apple fans have been waiting for this feature for a long time, and it is already present in many Android mid-range cell phones.
Apple iPhone 14: What’s new?
It gets more interesting when it comes to the topic camera: The iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max use a 48-megapixel camera, which Apple says can record 4K videos with improved image stabilization. Compared to the previous 12 megapixels, Apple promises significantly sharper and more colorful images. Apple has also added a lot to all models with night mode.
That too Selfie Cam and Face ID Sensor Design has changed in the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max. At the top of the screen is now the so-called Dynamic Island: A panel that can be briefly expanded and operated when viewing notifications and running apps (e.g. timers).

The iPhone 14 Plus fills the gap that used to exist between the standard and the Pro version: Technically, it is on par with the iPhone 14, but offers a larger display and a larger battery.
Is it worth switching to the iPhone 14?
The iPhone 14 offers a few new gadgets – but the price is steep. The standard version with the smallest memory should cost 999 euros. For comparison: the iPhone 13 was available from 799 euros.
Only with small technical smears, but a lot cheaper, the iPhone 13 is still a top smartphone. Conclusion: What do the new Apple smartphones have to offer?
This time around, Apple isn’t necessarily in the fast lane when it comes to tech innovations – at least not when it comes to the standard iPhone 14 lineup. A few features like accident registration or the front camera with autofocus are nice to have. However, significant technical changes such as a more powerful chip, a new design and a smoother display only affect the Pro models. From a purely technical point of view, anyone who is interested in the standard version or the new Plus version can also use the iPhone 13 – and thus save money.
