Original title: Samsung launched the first mobile phone SoC with light tracking function – Exynos 2200
DoNews January 18 news (Liu Wenxuan) In the middle of last year, Samsung and AMD confirmed that they would jointly develop the next-generation Exynos SoC that supports ray tracing, and the results were officially announced today. The mobile device SoC named Exynos 2200 is produced based on the 4nm EUV process, designed by the Armv9 CPU core, combined with AMD’s RDNA 2 GPU technology, and introduced the image processing capability of ray tracing in the mobile device platform for the first time.
Samsung named the GPU applied to the Exynos chip Xclipse GPU, which has ray tracing and VRS (variable rate shading) functions that only PCs provided in the past. It allows developers to customize the area of the screen that needs to be redrawn by the processor, reducing computing pressure.
The Exynos 2200 is equipped with a three-level CPU, which consists of a high-efficiency Arm Cortex-X2 core, three Cortex-A710 large cores and four Cortex-A510 low-power cores. At the same time, there will be an upgraded NPU, and the official said that there will be double the performance increase. In terms of imaging, the ISP will support ultra-high-pixel cameras up to 200MP, which is expected to correspond to the ISOCELL HP1 CMOS released by Samsung last year.
