Valve’s bold decision to release a new Half-Life game as a VR exclusive has been controversial. The reviews of Half Life: Alyx were so high and the studio did an excellent job of innovating and building on a popular series, hence Valve’s move to do the same with Counter-Strike. The next step is to implement the successful Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.
VR, Virtual Reality, has finally arrived on the PC market. After Half Life: Alyx caused sales of VR headsets valves after. with Counter Strike. The popular tactical shooter will not get a VR update, but work is being done on a completely new implementation and the switch to the Source engine 2. And we should be able to play the result soon!
“We’re transitioning CS:GO to the Source 2 engine — the same engine that Half Life: Alyx used,” explained Valve developer Robin Walker. “This basically means that VR is very easy to implement. It’s practically ready. We assume that we will CS:GO VRmode will be released in about eight or nine years.”
valves relies on creative game elements such as chickens. These can be picked up in VR to use as cover. But also the fruit market in the map “de_italy” is used to heal yourself by pushing fruit into your mouth. So many new elements await us in CS:GO VR. No tactical shooter has ever been this exciting.
No NERF blasters from Fortnite. The Valve employees expressly resist this!
Larger eSports events will require more space in the future. Therefore there will be no more PCs, but you simply build the popular maps from Counter-Strike. Dust 2, Italy and Nuke have already been confirmed. In order to play as realistically as possible, the participants are given NERF guns.
“But not those of Fortnite”as Walker affirms.
the CS:GO VR mode accidentally released on next patch. Outside of April 1st (as a joke) a release date seems hopeless.
