Dortmund (dpa) – According to the words of sports director Michael Zorc, Borussia Dortmund is “totally” looking forward to the Bundesliga summit with front-runner Bayern Munich this Saturday evening (6.30 p.m. / Sky). “The table constellation is clear and I think we’re ready. Our goal is to be leaders on Saturday evening,” said Zorc in an interview with “Bild” (Friday edition). Before the 14th matchday, BVB is one point behind the German record champions from Munich.
Regarding the ongoing speculation about the future of top striker Erling Haaland, the 59-year-old commented that he was “basically not giving any water level reports”. The club is in a good, permanent exchange with the Norwegian as well as his father and his advisor. Despite his contract that runs until the end of June 2024, Haaland could change next summer, but Zorc also believes that the framework conditions are important for the 21-year-old. “Erling is more than good for us – but so are we for him,” said Zorc.
With a view to national player Karim Adeyemi, Zorc referred to his contract with RB Salzburg, which runs until 2024. The 19-year-old is a great German talent. The attacker brought extreme speed and a profile that was fundamentally exciting, explained Zorc.
