Football – Fuerth:Fürther striker Itten returns to Glasgow Rangers

Fuerth (dpa/lby) – SpVgg Greuther Fürth loses striker Cedric Itten. As the Bundesliga soccer club announced on Wednesday, the 25-year-old Swiss is returning to his home club Glasgow Rangers. The Franconian bottom of the table only loaned Itten out in the summer until the end of the season. The Scots have now brought the striker back early via a buyback option.
“Without this option, we would not have been able to get Cedi in the summer, so we now have to respect this decision,” explained managing director Rachid Azzouzi.
Itten scored two goals in twelve appearances for Fürth. “I would like to thank everyone for the time we spent together, even if it was shorter than originally thought. I wish the clover all the best for the future,” said Itten.
