Iphone 14 | Apple warns of poor availability of the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max | apple iphone

Apple confirmed in a press release quite officially that the production of the iPhone 14 Pro (approx. 1,299 euros on Amazon) and iPhone 14 Pro Max at a factory in Zhengzhou, China after new COVID-19 restrictions came into force in China. This should be reflected in a significantly poorer availability and thus in longer delivery times of the flagships.

According to the information, anyone who places an order today will wait in the Apple Online Store three to four weeks until delivery, so in order to receive the device before Christmas, orders must be placed soon. According to a report by Bloomberg Zhengzhou is currently under a total lockdown aimed at containing the recent wave of COVID-19 – no people or vehicles are allowed on the streets, making it impossible for Foxconn to transport the necessary workers and components to one of its largest factories.

Workers who are already in the factory area are not allowed to leave it. At least a small part of the production should be maintained by this “closed loop system”. It is currently unclear how long the current lockdown in Zhengzhou will last, so it is not yet possible to estimate how big the impact on the availability of Apple’s two most expensive smartphones will actually be. iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus stocks are sufficient for the time being after demand for the cheaper devices is not quite as high as expected.
