Iphone 14 | iPhone 14: Apple should refrain from this upgrade | apple iphone

A new day, a new leak for the iPhone 14. Although the next generation of Apple smartphones is not expected until autumn, rumors are already spreading. After leaks about the processor and the end of the mini-iPhones, there is now news about the display.

Many technical data and design decisions for the iPhone 14 (to the rumor overview) have already been leaked. There were already rumors about the performance of the displays in advance. These have now been substantiated again: According to the leaker Shadow Leak, the iPhone 14 and the iPhone 14 Max should not get a display upgrade compared to the iPhone 13 (here with a contract).

iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max without LTPO display?

The tweet supports other insiders’ suspicions that Apple will not be giving the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max an LTPO display. LTPO is the manufacturing technology that enables variable frame rates on displays. This means that the base models of the iPhone 14 will probably not get a display that can adjust its refresh rate and crank it up to 120 Hz. Due to the higher frame rate, animations appear smoother and therefore more pleasant when scrolling and in games.

The tweet underpins fears that Apple could once again use a 60 Hz panel. In addition, nothing should change in the notch design of the basic models. If all of these rumors turn out to be true, the question remains: what’s the difference with the iPhone 13? If the design, size and refresh rate are taken over from the display of the predecessor, this means that the iPhone 14 could again be a disappointment in terms of innovation – the iPhone 13 (for testing) is very similar to its predecessor in many areas.

Is it all just rumours?

It should be noted that these are just rumours. Apple traditionally refrains from making statements about the specifications of its devices until they are officially presented. So what’s with the speculation? Only Apple will be able to tell you that – and they will probably do so in the fall when the new iPhones are presented.

Our hope is that the new base iPhones will at least get a small upgrade and Apple will install a 90 Hz display. That would not contradict the leaker’s report. However, if you’re waiting for an iPhone 14 vari-refresh rate display, you’re likely to be disappointed. In that case, you should think about getting the iPhone 13 Pro with a contract. This has a 120 Hz LTPO display and is powered by the Apple A15 Bionic chip, which is also to be used in the iPhone 14.
