The US company has not yet revealed exactly when the update will appear. Thanks to the announcement, however, one thing is certain: the software error that causes problems when using third-party apps such as Snapchat, TikTok or Instagram is – contrary to what was previously assumed – attributed to Apple. It is most likely in the programming interface (called API) that Apple uses to enable app developers to address the smartphone’s camera. Until the problem is fixed, those affected can only use the camera app installed by default for video recording.
