Battery capacity increases in two out of three models
However, information about the battery capacity of the iPhone 14 variants has not yet been made public. The well-known leaker “ShrimpApplePro”, which has recently been considered quite reliable, has now found out about this according to its own statements. On Twitter he gave the exact values; these are based on information he found on Chinese social media such as Baidu. According to the tweet, Apple increases the energy content of two versions compared to the iPhone 13, but the capacity of the top model decreases compared to the current device, albeit only slightly.
iPhone 14 Max with the highest energy content
For the iPhone 14, i.e. the smartphone expected to have a 6.1-inch display without a suffix, ShrimpApplePro states a battery capacity of 3,279 milliampere hours (mAh). For comparison: the corresponding iPhone 13 has an energy content of 3,227 mAh. The leaker specifies a value of 3,200 mAh for the iPhone 14 Pro (iPhone 13 Pro: 3,095 mAh). The battery of the iPhone 14 Pro Max with 4,323 mAh is slightly smaller than the current iPhone 13 Pro Max (4,352 mAh). The iPhone 14 Max has the largest battery capacity of the upcoming generation of smartphones from Cupertino, albeit very narrowly, with 4,325 milliampere hours. A comparison with a current model is not possible in this case, since there is no corresponding iPhone 13.
Leaker: Values are not confirmed yet
However, ShrimpApple Pro expressly points out in its tweet that it has not yet received confirmation of the values mentioned. So it remains to be seen what the battery capacities of the four iPhone 14 models will actually be. As always, the teardowns that can be expected shortly after the release of the new smartphones will provide clarity. It is currently not possible to assess how the changes that have now been leaked will affect the runtime of the iPhone 14.
