A few months ago, Apple introduced a revolutionary feature with the iPhone 14 series and also Huawei with the Mate 50 series. The new devices can connect to low-Earth orbit satellites located around the world for emergency communications. Now it looks like Samsung will bring a similar feature to its upcoming high-end Galaxy S23 series smartphones.
According to a new report from ETNews, Samsung is working with Iridium Communications to develop some sort of satellite communications system for the Galaxy S23. Iridium offers voice and data communications services via 66 low-orbit satellites, and Samsung has reportedly been working with the company for two years to bring this capability to smartphones.
