Apple | Tests of the MacBook Pro with the Apple M2 Pro and M2 Max show performance upgrades and significantly longer battery life | macbook

The tests of Engadget, TechCrunch, cnet and The Verge. The extensive tests also show which upgrades customers can expect apart from the performance. Engadget was able to determine a battery life of 15:10 hours for the 14-inch MacBook Pro based on the Apple M2 Max, while the previous model only managed 12:36 hours in the same test.

However, the Apple M2 Max apparently consumes more energy under load than the M1 Max, because, as reported by The Verge, among others, the fans run much louder under continuous load, while the case temperature is noticeably higher. In regular workflows, the chip should still work much more efficiently – according to The Verge, the runtime increases from around 10 to 14 hours, but this test was not carried out with the same parameters.
